Our Team

  • Betty Lemar - Founder

Having a passion for service and a sincere love and care for those in need, Betty Lamar enthusiastically responded to a clear vision of her soul - an inspiration to provide the right guide and support to victims of domestic violence, employment discrimination, and abuse of any kind.

Likewise, as a domestic violence survivor and as a Hispanic woman, Betty is aware of the tremendous need for minority groups under abusive and/or discriminatory environments to access help and support.

Hence, as the Hispanic community flourished in Wayne County and other areas of eastern North Carolina, the need for a centralized organization committed to responding to the specific needs of the growing population resulted in the foundation of Project Hope of Wayne County.
